Privacy policy
Life in the UK Questions website ยท Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains how the Life in the UK Questions website handles your information. In short: we collect only what we need to run your account and your purchase, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.
Who we are
The website is run by Steady Lamp Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17533499). Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact: support@lifeintheukquestions.co.uk.
Without an account
You can study without signing in. Your answers, progress, saved questions, test results and test date are stored only in your browser (local storage). They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
With an account
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to send receipts and messages about your purchase.
- If you choose Continue with Google: your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We never see your Google password.
- A copy of your study progress, so it stays in step across your devices.
- A record of your Full Access purchase (date, amount and Stripe reference). We never see or store your card details.
We use this information to provide the service you asked for. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you.
Cookies and similar storage
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in (strictly necessary).
- A small cookie that remembers you've used the app, so our home page opens your dashboard. It holds no personal data.
- Local storage in your browser for your progress and preferences.
We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Analytics
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and how many people finish a mock test, so we can improve it. It runs without cookies and without storing anything on your device, and we never send it your name, email address or answers. We do not record your screen.
Keeping the site working and safe
When signing in, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person, not a bot. If the site hits an error in your browser, it sends a short technical report (the error message, the page address and your browser type, with no personal details) to our server logs so we can fix it.
Who processes your data
- Cloudflare hosts the website and provides the bot check.
- PostHog (EU) provides anonymous usage analytics.
- Google, only if you sign in with your Google account.
- Supabase stores accounts and synced progress, and sends sign-in emails. Data is stored in the EU (Paris).
- Stripe processes payments. Stripe's privacy policy covers the payment details you give it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it. Purchase records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, but are unlinked from you when you delete your account. Server logs are kept for a short time only.
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your data. Delete your account at any time in Settings, or contact us. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
